Whatever the building is (community center?) it’s almost mid-century modern but not quite - moving out of it a bit - and it’s not that well executed. It *does* have the look , though. There’s a bunch more of that guy’s photos with a lot of varied architecture & cars here:

I went dumpster diving for more of that guy’s photos and found another Lincoln.

I wonder if he changed the color of the building, or if it just happened to be pink and green.

Nothing like a good mid century modern. The cars and the buildings still seem futuristic

Been on the website before a lot of cool stuff and the shade of the photos themselves are excellent

I noticed the placard on the ground in that one mentioning a CWA (Communication Workers of America) strike. 1170 seems to be Rochester, and the ‘56 Lincoln matches up with a 128 day major strike against Westinghouse in ‘55-’56. I wonder if the owners of the Premiere were union boss types or just well to do locals - the men sitting on the car may not be the owner/s, since one of them is in jeans. Slightly higher formal standard back then, but then again, I don’t think Rochester would’ve been that uptight.

Actually, I revise that statement. There’s a ‘60 Falcon in the background - way off in the left. This would be a strike I saw mention of in ‘60, then.

That’s a really interesting moment in history then. What is more interesting to me is someone on strike could afford a four year old luxury car. Depreciation must have been just as big a deal back then

Depreciation, and in terms of pieces, mechanical complexity, etc. etc. cars weren’t actually quite so much of one’s income unless they were the absolute top of the line. I’m not convinced the Premiere belongs to one of the strikers, but it’s certainly not impossible - either it could be a shop head’s car or just one of the senior electrical techs. Union wages in the ‘50s weren’t too bad (read: before conditions corrected from the boom).
